Kyrgyzstan purchased first batches of Belarusian dairy products at BUCE

The first transactions on the sale of dairy products to Kyrgyzstan took place at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE). As part of the signed contracts, it is planned to supply trial batches of domestically-produced butter and skimmed milk powder with a volume of 20 tonnes each to the market of this Central Asian country. Thus, the geography of foreign buyers of dairy products using the BUCE electronic platform has again expanded, sb.by reports with reference to the BUCE press service.

The stock exchange believes that the registered foreign trade transactions open up new export opportunities for Belarusian dairy processing enterprises, while also confirming the interest of the Kyrgyz business community in more active work on Belarus’ commodity stock market.

“The development of co-operation between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan in the stock exchange sector is peculiar for the regular expansion of the range of goods involved in mutual trade. Initially, it was only the supply of sunflower seeds to our agricultural organisations. However, over the past few years, a number of new positions have appeared in the structure of stock exchange transactions. In particular, ferrous metal products manufactured in Kyrgyzstan began to be imported to Belarus through stock exchange trading, while domestic exporters began to successfully sell lumber, sugar, and now dairy products to Kyrgyz bidders. As a rule, such diversification is accompanied by an increase in the volume of exchange turnover and a growth in the number of accredited companies. Therefore, by late 2024, we expect to achieve a surplus for both indicators in our trade with Kyrgyzstan,” BUCE spokesperson Roman Yaniv commented.

As of June 1st, 2024, twenty-six residents of Kyrgyzstan were accredited to the BUCE, with exports of Belarusian granulated sugar and edged softwood lumber accounting for the largest volume of transactions in value terms.
