Kubrakov: Belarus’ Interior Ministry open for interactions with UAE

Belarus’ Interior Ministry is open for interactions with its UAE counterpart, said Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior in the UAE government, Sheikh Said bin Zayed Al Nahyan, sb.by reports citing the Interior Ministry’s Telegram channel

The meeting took place at the WeProtect Global Alliance's 2024 Global Summit taking place in the United Arab Emirates. As Mr. Kubrakov pointed out, the Belarusian side is open for interactions in various areas of law enforcement operations and service, including continued training for UAE police officers in Belarus.

“We structured the training programme in such a way that makes trainees able to fully grasp all our public security practices. Right now, in particular, the training is focused on dispersing mass riots. We see it that your guys really like training with us. We are going to review all their suggestions; we are ready adjust our programmes for future groups, including for female officers,” said the Interior Minister.

He invited the UAE team to an open field shooting tournament for special purpose police detachments (OMON) and thanked the host for issuing an invitation for the Belarusin team to take part in the UAE SWAT Challenge for police special forces in Dubai. Mr. Kubrakov also congratulated the sheikh on the UAE Independence Day (celebrated on December 2th), giving him a watch as a gift and inviting him to Belarus to personally enjoy our security and hospitality.

Mr. Al Nahyan, in turn, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the UAE police officers for the chance to get valuable experience with Belarusian law enforcement, and commitment to continue this co-operation in the future. He added that our countries’ potential for partnership in all most topical areas is inexhaustible thanks to high trust built up between Belarus’ and UAE’s heads of state.

Mr. Kubrakov also has a meeting planned with the Chief of the Dubai Police Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri. Both officers plan to share experience and programmes pertaining to staff healthcare and rehabilitation.
