Kremlin explained why special operation is still ongoing

The regions that became part of Russia as a result of the referendums are not yet fully protected from threats, so the special operation continues – as stated by the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, TASS reports

The Kremlin representative noted that Crimea is reliably protected.

“Donbass is not fully protected yet, so the special military operation continues. Actually, we have to protect the people who live there. So far, this goal has not been fully achieved. This has yet to be done," Mr. Peskov stressed.

Earlier, the Kremlin representative expressed an opinion that it could take just a couple of days for the conflict in Ukraine to end – provided that the White House gives Kiev certain instructions.
