The agenda of the upcoming session of the Belarusian People’s Congress, scheduled to be held in April, has been approved – as noted by Aleksandr Kosinets, the Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian People's Congress, following today’s meeting of the Presidium of the Belarusian People's Congress headed by the President of Belarus, Chairman of the Belarusian People's Congress Aleksandr Lukashenko
The Deputy Chairman said that the agenda of the upcoming Belarusian People’s Congress – scheduled for April 2025 – had been approved during the last meeting. “The agenda has been approved. The second session of the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress will be held in April for two days. On the first day, there will be the Address of the President to Belarusian People and Parliament, it will outline all areas of socio-economic development, international policy, Belarus’ geopolitical position, issues related to solving existing problems, successes, shortcomings, and ultimately how we will develop the state in the coming years,” he commented.
According to Mr. Kosinets, the event will be very intense and serious. On the second day, the delegates will be reported by the Prime Minister on the implementation of the country's socio-economic development programmes. The Deputy Chairman added that ‘a package of documents with the questions to the Prime Minister from the delegates of the Belarusian People’s Congress’ will soon start to be formed, “All questions will be systematised and submitted to the Government in order to receive an answer from the Prime Minister at the Congress regarding the socio-economic development of our state.”
The programme for the next five years will be approved in 2026, but – prior to that – it will be reviewed by the Presidium of the Belarusian People's Congress and then submitted for approval.
“The programme of socio-economic development will be considered in detail in accordance with the law On State Forecasting and Programmes of Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Belarus adopted in 2023,” Mr. Kosinets said.
