Kochanova: Victory Day takes on special significance in Year of Historical Memory

In the Year of Historical Memory, Victory Day acquires special significance – as stated by Natalya Kochanova, the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, during the eighth session of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the seventh convocation, BelTA reports

“I sincerely congratulate everyone on the upcoming holiday of May 9th. This is a truly great, national holiday which takes on special significance in the Year of Historical Memory. The further we go from this day, the brighter it becomes for us while the memory about the terrible tragedy that occurred on our land finds more and more response in our hearts. The President was right to say that Belarus is a monument to that great war. There were battles all over our country. Therefore, the bright memory of these people will remain in our hearts,” noted Ms. Kochanova.

“I would like to wish our country, our people only peace and tranquillity, because we understand how important are those achievements and the blessed memory of those people who defended the freedom and independence of our country, how vital peace and tranquillity are today,” said the Chairperson of the Council Republic.
