Kochanova: role of women in Belarus today can hardly be overestimated
Belarusian women today live by common goals and tasks facing the country and society – as stated by Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of Belarus’ National Assembly Natalya Kochanova before the ceremony honouring the winners of the Woman of the Year-2024 republican contest, held today in Nesvizh
“The role of women in Belarus today is actually very difficult to overestimate,” the Speaker of the Council of the Republic emphasised. “Because women in the modern world are not only mothers and wives, but also professionals, like-minded women who are concerned about their country and our future. Our women do not live for today, but look into the future, because we have children and grandchildren, and we care about the country in which they will live.”
Ms. Kochanova added that the President of Belarus always treats women with respect and awe, “Our Head of State is ware that many things rest on the fragile shoulders of women: home, family, work, and solving social problems. And these are, above all, the education of the younger generation, caring for others, and voluntary work. We are very happy that such a powerful public organisation as the Belarusian Women’s Union is growing today. Our women live by common goals and tasks facing the country and society.”
