Kochanova: everything done in Belarus to make its people live comfortably
Everything has been done in Belarus to make people live comfortably – as stated by the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, Natalya Kochanova, at a meeting with the gymnasium teachers and pupils in Glubokoe, Vitebsk Region
“Belarus’ domestic policy focuses primarily on people, their capabilities, needs, and problems,” Ms. Kochanova noted. “From year to year, everything is being done to make our people live more comfortably. As regards Belarus’ foreign policy, it is aimed at peace and harmony. Our country has never threatened anyone, and it will never do this. We have never supported military conflicts. We always declare that peaceful negotiations are the must. In the modern times, when there are so many hot spots on the planet, we definitely cannot help but worry about these issues.”
Ms. Kochanova stressed that the most important task now is to ensure that peace and tranquillity reign around the globe. “Over the past thirty years of the establishment of the institution of the presidency, our country has changed beyond recognition,” she noted. “Maybe it is less noticeable to young people who were already born in this ‘new’ state. However, it is noticeable to us [older people] as we were born in a different country. When the Soviet Union collapsed, we have been creating our country under the President’s leadership step by step – following his wise and absolutely correct decisions.”
