Kim Jong-Un: North Korean Navy to become part of nuclear deterrence force
The leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, during a visit with his daughter to the naval command, announced his plans for the Navy of the Korean People’s Army (KPA), TASS reports
In addition, he stated that all branches of the country’s armed forces will be provided with new military equipment. This will be done ‘in accordance with the policy of expanded use of tactical nuclear weapons’. The leader of the DPRK didn’t specify what equipment he was referring to.
“From now on, KPA’s Navy will become a part of the national nuclear deterrence force, tasked with strategic missions,” said Kim Jong-Un.
During his speech, he stated that a unified leadership system of the Korean Worker’s Party’s Central Committee should be adopted so that the Korean Navy stays ‘on full readiness for war’ and could ‘destroy the target, designated by the Central Committee when the time comes’.
“War is not only a standoff between vehicles and equipment, it is also a standoff between ideas, ideals and morals,” said Kim Jong-Un.
