Khrenin: geopolitical situation around Belarus not getting better

The training programme of the Armed Forces directly depends on the foreign policy context – as stated by Belarus’ Defence Minister, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, at today’s operational meeting with the leadership of the Armed Forces at the Lepelsky training ground

Speaking to reporters, the Defence Minister noted, “Unfortunately, the geopolitical situation around Belarus is not getting better, and the level of tension continues to rise – as seen in the actions of the collective West, which include its turbulent militarisation, the purchase of offensive weapons, the concentration of troops, and the creation of new units near our borders. The aggressive rhetoric directed at us shows that we must respond appropriately and prepare our Armed Forces accordingly.”
