Khrenin: Belarus’ Armed Forces are a tool to prevent war

Belarus’ Defence Minister, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, has talked to journalists before a solemn meeting dedicated to Day of Fatherland Defenders and the Armed Forces

“Sadly, some politicians often make alarmist forecasts in recent times. It feels like we are being accustomed to this word. There is such a ‘normality’. Meanwhile, I believe it is not normal – it is anomalous. What can we contrapose? Of course, this is strong, good protection in all spheres of activity of our state: political, economic and, of course, military. As for the military sphere, I would like to emphasise that the Armed Forces are now not a tool for unleashing and waging war. Belarus’ Armed Forces are a tool for preventing war," Mr. Khrenin stated.
