Khrenin: Belarus adheres towards peace-loving policy

This was stated by Belarus’ Defence Minister, Lieutenant-General Viktor Khrenin, during the Belarusian-Russian exercises Allied Resolve 2022 at the Polessky training ground

“The purpose of the joint exercises is to prevent and repel external aggression and to counter terrorist challenges and threats while ensuring the security of the Union State,” noted Mr. Khrenin. “Belarus is a peace-loving state, we do not threaten anyone and do not consider any state as a potential adversary. All our actions are enshrined in the draft Constitution, which will be submitted to the nationwide referendum on February 27th. By this we confirm that we adhere towards peace-loving policy.”

Today, the Polessky training ground saw fire actions by missile troops, which carried out combat launches with the Tochka-U high-precision tactical missile system. During the group strike, two mock enemy targets were hit at a distance of over 60km.

“The task was completed perfectly. The work with such weapons is unique in being carried out no more than once a year. Previously, these weapons were used at the training grounds of Kazakhstan; last year, the Head of State allowed to use the Polessky area. We launch rocket artillery troops in winter, so as not to cause great damage to nature. Allied Resolve 2022 exercises are held completely openly and will last at various training grounds until February 20th.

Viktor Khrenin also added that some results of the Belarusian-Russian exercises can already be outlined, “The ability of the Armed Forces to ensure the military security of the Union State was demonstrated, during the first stage of the exercises, military logistics and infrastructure for receiving troops, their deployment, and receiving various material supplies were tested; the exam was passed. It can be seen that our control systems are clearly aligned while the training and morale of our troops once again underline that we are ready to maintain the security of our Union State.”
