Khabarovsk Krai Governor: we’re ready to liaise more closely under sanctions pressure

Today Aleksandr Lukashenko has met with the Governor of Russia’s Khabarovsk Krai, Mikhail Degtyaryov, who warmly thanked the President of Belarus for the invitation, noting that although this is his first time in Belarus, he feels as if at home

“This is our big country, the Union State, our common victories in the Great Patriotic War. I want to note that a lot of attention is paid here to the historical memory of the Belarusian and Russian peoples. Today, this is especially important when Belarus and Russia are experiencing unprecedented sanctions pressure from the West,” said Mr. Degtyaryov.

He underlined that the sanctions are being introduced treacherously, “Actually, the expropriation of our countries’ property abroad is being carried out. This is the choice of the West, not our choice. In the current situation, we want and are ready to build even closer interaction with Belarusian enterprises.”

Mr. Degtyaryov specified that a team of the Khabarovsk Krai government and a business mission (builders, agrarians, logging workers, entrepreneurs engaged in trade) came to Belarus with him.

“It is important for us, as for a remote region, to quickly join the integration processes, we will definitely do this,” stressed the Russian governor.
