Kazakhstan interested in Belarus’ experience in agriculture and IT

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kazakhstan, Pavel Utyupin, met with the Chairman of Mazhilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Koshanov – as informed by the Belarusian diplomatic mission

As reported, the meeting was also attended by the Head of the Interparliamentary Group on Co-operation of Mazhilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan with the National Assembly of Belarus, Deputy Chairman of Mazhilis, Pavel Kazantsev, and a member of the Interparliamentary Group, secretary of the Committee on Legislation and Judicial and Legal Reform, deputy of the Mazhilis, Snezhana Imasheva.

"During the meeting, the sides discussed the state and future prospects for the development of a Belarusian-Kazakh inter-parliamentary dialogue, deepening interaction in the field of rule-making, and also co-operation and mutual support within international organisations," the Embassy noted, adding that Pavel Utyupin and Yerlan Koshanov focused on key socio-political events in Belarus and Kazakhstan, while touching upon certain aspects of the international agenda.

According to the diplomatic mission, a special emphasis was placed on the dynamics of the development of bilateral co-operation. The sides acknowledged a significant increase in mutual trade turnover, a growing level of co-operation and strengthening of regional ties.

The Kazakh side expressed interest in using Belarus’ experience in the agricultural sector and IT. The need for further development of co-operation in the tourism industry and cultural sphere was recognised as well.

"The Chairman of Mazhilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan informed on the ongoing work dealing with implementation of a package of political reforms put forward by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on legislative activities aimed at ensuring the country’s further progressive development. Mr. Utyupin reported on the progress of the constitutional reform in Belarus, also noting the efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region," the diplomatic mission said.

The Belarusian diplomat thanked the Kazakh side for an effective work of the deputies of Kazakhstan’s Parliament as part of the CIS observer mission to monitor the nationwide referendum on amendments and additions to the Constitution of Belarus.

As informed by the Embassy, the sides agreed to hold in Belarus a regular meeting of the Working Group of the National Assembly of Belarus on Co-operation with Parliament of Kazakhstan and the Interparliamentary Group on Co-operation of Mazhilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan with Belarus’ National Assembly this year.
