Jinping urges to build open world economy
China believes it is necessary to create an international environment that will be favourable for development – as stated by President Xi Jinping at BRICS Summit, RIA Novosti reports
The Chinese leader drew attention to a detrimental impact of sanctions, saying that protectionism is tantamount to hand and foot binding, while creation of ‘small circles’ leads only to self-isolation. In his view, by imposing sanctions, it is possible to harm oneself and others, while severing ties and stopping supplies are doomed to failure.
Xi Jinping stressed the need to strive for development, contribute to it through joint efforts, and also ‘to build an open world economy’. The Chinese leader believes a fairer and more reasonable system of global governance is needed.
