Japan to urge G7 countries to expand sanctions against Russia and continue to provide assistance to Ukraine

Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi said that the country, as G7 chair, will insist on maintaining sanctions against Russia and strengthening assistance to Ukraine in the military conflict, TASS reports

Yoshimasa Hayashi said, “Japan, as G7 chair, will support the unity of the Group of Seven and other like-minded countries, as well as promote tough sanctions against Russia and powerful assistance to Ukraine.”

According to him, at the upcoming meeting of the G7 Foreign Ministers in Karuizawa (Nagano Prefecture), the G7 would like to send a clear signal to the world that it will not tolerate unilateral attempts to change the status quo by force anywhere in the world.
