Japan to liaise with G7 to prevent measures to circumvent anti-Russian sanctions

Japan plans to work together with its G7 partners to prevent actions to circumvent sanctions imposed on Russia – as stated by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, TASS reports

“For the effective application of sanctions, it is necessary to make efforts so that third countries do not bypass them and thereby reduce their effectiveness. We intend to work with the international community, including the Group of Seven, to ensure the effectiveness of sanctions, including the suppression of measures to circumvent them,” the politician said at a parliamentary session.

The source recalled that Japan is chairing the G7 this year and will hold its summit in May, in Hiroshima – the city which was bombed by the United States on August 6th, 1945. The G7 leaders intend to visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorialduring their trip.
