Japan to introduce energy saving mode in winter
The Japanese government will introduce an electricity saving mode from December 1st this year until March 31st, 2023, due to fears of a lack of energy in winter – as reported by RIA Novosti
Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yasutoshi Nishimura noted that the government of the country plans to appeal to companies and the public with a request to save electricity by lowering the set temperature of air conditioners and turning off lights in unused premises.
It is noted that a decision was also made to restart power plants, the operation of which was stopped, as well as to purchase additional volumes of fuel.
Moreover, it is planned to introduce a system of bonuses for those households that can reduce the volume of monthly electricity consumption by 3 percent or more compared to last year.
The energy saving mode in Japan in the winter will be introduced for the first time in seven years.
