Such measures have been taken in Italy in connection with its rejection of Russian gas. It is reported that the restrictions will be in effect until March 31st, 2023. At the moment, the regulation has not affected hospitals and private houses – but, if the authorities deem it necessary, the residents of the latter will also be left without fully functioning air conditioners.

Local deputies note that the measures taken will help the country save 2-4bn cubic metres of natural gas annually.
