Iran to continue developing cultural co-operation with Belarus

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus, Said Yari, shared the country’s cultural plans during the opening of the Iran is a Country of Masters exhibition at the University of Culture Art Gallery. The exposition is dedicated to the 43rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution Victory in Iran.

In his welcoming speech, the diplomat stressed that the exhibition is showcased in Minsk not for the first time. He thanked the Rector of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, Natalia Karchevskaya, and the Director of the University of Culture Art Gallery, Marina Tatarevich, for their assistance in holding the exhibition.

The Ambassador addressed those present, saying, “What you see is a drop in the ocean of Iranian art. Historians and cultural scientists rightly call Iran a cradle of the culture of civilisations and a source of art. For the first time, Belarusians will be able to enjoy the artistry of Iran’s club of female entrepreneurs. The best works of our craftsmen are presented here – so that all Belarusians who are interested in Iranian art can see it.”


The exposition features original handicrafts and works of outstanding cultural figures of Iran. These include pieces of weaving and calligraphy, as well as miniatures, paintings, ceramics, sculptures.

Said Yari also stated that Belarus-Iran co-operation is developing along all avenues: economic, political, and cultural. Next year, the two states will celebrate a significant date: the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
