Interior Minister: Belarus’ special forces capable of completing any mission
At a recent press conference in Minsk, Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov reported that at least 13 modern units of the special forces – capable of performing special tasks – operate in Belarus
Mr. Kubrakov noted, “You remember that the situation was tense, so it was decided to create the units that would be ready to complete the tasks set anywhere and at any time. Starting from 2020, they have become operational. Time has shown that there is a need in them, especially in the situation currently developing in the border area with Ukraine. Special units of our internal troops work there on a constant basis. We also have unmanned aircraft and intelligence units that operate in the border areas. There is also a reserve unit of the Interior Minister, these people are ready to go anywhere in our country and complete any combat mission.”
In addition, the Interior Minister noted that the police are ready to ensure security during the Belarusian People’s Congress scheduled to be held in April. According to Mr. Kubrakov, Belarusian law enforcement officers never use old schemes while preparing for the events of the kind. They are constantly analysing the situation inside and outside the country.
"The preparation is already underway, and I can say with confidence that the necessary measures will be taken and we will ensure security," the Interior Minister stated.
