Information security structures set up at Belarus’ Interior Ministry
Information security structures have been created at the Interior Ministry – as informed by Ivan Kubrakov, BelTA reports
“Protection of personal data and information security are among the key issues for the Interior Ministry. On January 14th, 2022, a corresponding decree was signed envisaging information protection policy. The Interior Ministry’s structure – including its central office and regional departments of internal affairs – has been changed to set up divisions engaged exclusively into information protection. In addition to monitoring the use of information resources, a division has been established to ensure information security around the clock," Belarus’ Interior Minister, Ivan Kubrakov, said.
According to him, there have been numerous attempts of unauthorised access to information databases this year, but ‘all of them were successfully repulsed’. “These facts are being checked together with our colleagues from other law enforcement agencies. In addition, for the purpose of its own security, a department dealing with monitoring and control of information security has been set up at the department of the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the Interior Ministry,” Mr. Kubrakov informed.
