Indonesian company keen to buy sawn timber and Belarusian milk at BUCE
The first company from the Republic of Indonesia has been accredited at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), sb.by reports with reference to the BUCE press service
A new participant of exchange trading plans to use the opportunities of the Belarusian trading platform to buy sawn timber and dairy products. Thus, the geography of BUCE’s foreign clients has once again expanded and now covers 79 countries.
The BUCE press service noted that every year the interest of foreign business to Belarus’ exchange market is dynamically growing, providing a stable inflow of non-resident participants, and last year was one of the most successful in this respect.
“In 2024, active work was underway to expand the BUCE’s presence in foreign markets. As a result, residents of eight new countries not previously represented on the exchange were attracted. These are manufacturing and trading companies from Venezuela, Vietnam, Iraq, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Oman and Saudi Arabia. At the same time, the total number of foreign economic entities accredited at the BUCE increased by almost 1,100 companies and reached 7,945 by late 2024. This year, the indicator also shows positive dynamics: 75 new participants from abroad came to the trades in January. Among them there are both sellers and buyers, but if we talk about the far arc countries, such as Indonesia, Vietnam or Malaysia, they are mainly importers who chose the stock exchange as the most convenient option for them to work in the Belarusian market,” BUCE spokesperson Roman Yaniv emphasised.
As of February 1st, 2025, 35,513 companies, including 8,020 non-residents of Belarus, were accredited at the BUCE. The top five leaders in terms of the number of new companies in 2024 include Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Turkiye, and in 2025 – Russia, Azerbaijan, China, Kazakhstan and Armenia.
