Indestructible Brotherhood – 2021 tasks announced

The Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General, Anatoly Sidorov, has announced the tasks of the Indestructible Brotherhood – 2121 strategic exercise – as reported by the Collective Security Treaty Organisation

Since 2017, the complex of joint exercises under the auspices of the CSTO has been conducted in the form of the Indestructible Brotherhood strategic exercise. Within the framework of a single strategic task, all elements of the CSTO collective security system are involved in one or several regions.

“While developing a plan for the 2021 training, we outlined a range of tasks to enhance the coherence of management bodies and subdivisions that make up the CSTO troops (Collective Forces), to improve the command and control system of troops (Collective Forces) and to achieve interoperability of the organisation’s forces and means of the collective security system,” the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff stressed.

As informed, the forthcoming joint exercises will focus also on mastering the tasks related to countering threats to the CSTO member states emanating from international terrorist and extremist organisations. With this in view, a set of joint trainings across the regions of collective security has been determined.

At least 5,000 people, approximately 700 units of weapons and military special equipment – including armoured vehicles, airplanes, helicopters and unmanned aircraft – will take part in the Indestructible Brotherhood – 2021.
