In 2022, BMZ worked with profit

According to Dmitry Korchik, the Director General of BMZ – Managing Company of BMK Holding, the plant boasts positive profitability despite the difficult geopolitical conditions

“The company has worked with a profit, melting over 2 million tonnes of steel. The BMZ development programme should envisage the production of new types of products and further diversification of sales markets. After all, if you do not develop, you can hopelessly lag behind,” he said.

Dmitry Korchik noted that BMZ maintains business relations with all partners, with certificates of product conformity being confirmed, “In January, 180,000 tonnes of steel should be smelted. Rolling shops are loaded, and we continue to work on loading metalware production.”

The plans for 2023 are to purchase four new high-performance wire winding machines for the production of multi-row cable and steel wire cord, enabling to increase the manufacture of cord for reinforcing extra-large tyres. Modernisation also continues in other divisions, e.g., this year the fleet of the railway workshop will be replenished with a new diesel locomotive. A competition was organised for its purchase. The overhaul of existing equipment in the workshop will also continue.
