If international organisations fail to work, then new ones are needed, expert believes

Political expert Aleksei Dzermant disclosed the role the existing international organisations play and how the world should develop further

Alfa Radio programme host Vadim Shepet asked, “Has time come when the existing international organisations need to pass an exam on their viability and necessity?"

“This is true,” Mr. Dzermant said. “There are also positive examples: i.e. IAEA that controls nuclear energy. So far we see that everything is operating – even on the example of Ukraine, despite the events that are taking place there. As regards others… Manipulations with chemical weapons, fake news indicate that the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons is not able to distinguish the truth from fakes and pays attention only to cases beneficial to the West. It is the same with biological weapons.”

The expert added, “If these mechanisms fail to work, then new ones need to be created. These might be not with a western flavour, but half the world is ready for normal, constructive work on various issues."

At the same time, according to Mr. Dzermant, the West will have to change its course if an alternative system of international organisations is created. "If such a new system is created, the West will either be forced to obey or there will be a split when each block has its own rules," the expert stressed.
