Viktor Orban noted that at the moment Hungary is a member of the European Union and does not intend to leave it in the next decade.

“Brussels is trying to reduce the powers of Hungary and member states. Brussels is abusing its power and wants to force us into what is alien to us,” he added.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Hungarian authorities are still against allowing migrants into the country. The government also does not accept economic measures that could destroy Hungarian families in the long run.

According to the diplomat, the cultural distance between Brussels and Budapest is now growing.

“We are members of the European Union not because it is what it is, but because of what it could be,” said Mr. Orban.
