Hungarian Parliament changed Constitution to mandate two genders
Hungary's Parliament has adopted an amendment to the Constitution stating that all people are either male or female, TASS reports
At the meeting, which was broadcast live on national television, 140 deputies supported the proposal, 21 were against, and there were no abstentions.
The new version of the relevant article of the Constitution reads: ‘Hungary shall protect the institution of marriage as a voluntary union between a man and a woman, as well as the family as the basis of the nation's existence’. The amendment stipulates that the basis of the family is marriage and the relationship between parents and children. It is emphasised that ‘the mother is a woman, the father is a man’.
