The Hungarian official was asked whether he considers the training of Ukrainian doctors to be military aid to Kiev, and he responded, “Guided by humanitarian considerations and acting on the principle of ‘people help people’, we have found it possible to organise the treatment of wounded soldiers. On the same basis, we share the knowledge with Ukrainian military medical specialists that will enable them to save people's lives.”

According to Mr. Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Budapest still ‘remains aloof from the war’. He added that the Hungarian authorities will not allow the country to be drawn into an armed confrontation. The Defence Minister stressed that Budapest's position remains unchanged: Hungary does not support any steps that could lead to an escalation of the conflict.
