House of Representatives deputies joined Talai foundation project

A meeting of deputies with Aleksei Talai, a public figure, Paralympian, motivational coach and founder of the charitable foundation, took place in the House of Representatives as part of the project to create the Living Memory of Grateful Generations monument

“Aleksei Konstantinovich is the author of a wonderful idea that has already been supported by the presidents of Belarus and Russia. We are talking about the Living Memory of Grateful Generations project, which aims to erect memorial plaques in the capitals of two brotherly nations – Minsk and Moscow – as well as in the Brest Fortress, as a symbol of our unity, our strength, shared history and shared victory for all,” Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Vadim Ipatov noted.

The Deputy Speaker noted that 2025 is full of events and actions dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, but this project stands out from the others.

“The idea of collecting coins to cast monuments has found a wide response among residents of Belarus and Russia, has received truly nationwide support, and the involvement of the two countries’ heads of state has given it a special status,” Mr. Ipatov emphasised.

The House of Representatives could not stay away either. At the same time, not only the deputies, but also their votership from all over Belarus and the Secretariat staff were able to participate. Everyone was able to make a small contribution to this great endeavour.

“The monument created will symbolise the memory of the millions who died during the war so that today we could live under a peaceful sky in a free and independent country,” Mr. Ipatov underlined.

Member of the House of Representatives Eduard Severin noted that we do not divide the Victory, we do not take the laurels of the winners on ourselves, “This is evidenced by the active participation of the Belarusian and Russian peoples in the implementation of the project and the active position of the presidents of our states, who took a very direct part in the implementation of this project. I recall the words of President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko: let not the descendants of Nazi criminals hope that with the departure of the last witnesses of the genocide of the Belarusian and other peoples the historical truth will disappear. This will not happen!”

The project is being realised on the initiative of the charitable foundation of Aleksei Talai. The first monument was erected in Minsk on July 2th, 2022, the second one was unveiled in Brest on July 28th, 2024. The third and final monument is planned to be installed in Moscow in the anniversary year of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
