According to Nadezhda Bukharova, it is still not clear what to expect in the current situation, including regarding the closure of the academy.

“I think if the leadership of our country wants to close, it will definitely close. It will always find some reason and we are unlikely to be able to do anything against the state machine. I’m already coming to the conclusion that they will cause us a lot of trouble. Of course, it is very wrong, and it seems to me that such a project that we are doing is unique. It is the only one in Europe, in general, the only such in the world,” the founder of the Riga Children’s Academy of Radio and Television drew attention.

Moreover, Nadezhda Bukharova noted that many countries support the academy, and the Belarusian Foreign Ministry has also joined in solving the situation.

“The Foreign Ministry of Belarus, the President of Belarus, everyone began to react to this situation because it’s nonsense. The fact is that even additional protection was offered by the festival’s directorate to the children so that there would be no provocations. However, the atmosphere here is very good. There are many people here, representatives of so many countries have come. Everything is organised here perfectly so my children feel completely safe, though, of course, I’d like to thank directorate of the Slavianski Bazaar Festival,” said Nadezhda Bukharova.

Children are also very worried because of the words of the government of Latvia, “I knew that there were some political conflicts, but I did not think that this would apply to children, to children’s journalism, that is, to culture. Actually, we provide an opportunity to tell about our country, to show the face of Latvia. We promote, so to speak, but they don’t want to,” said Ilya Karoza, a student of the academy.
