Head of President Property Management Directorate: Belarus, Oman working on large-scale agricultural project
Belarus and Oman are working on a large-scale agricultural project, BelTA reports with reference to the Head of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate, Yuri Nazarov, after his today’s report to Aleksandr Lukashenko
"A large-scale agricultural project in the Braslav District is being elaborated together with an Omani investor. There are good ideas and intentions. We are now getting to the point to digitise the expected results, there are several of them. Meanwhile, there is one goal: Oman experiences a food shortage [the talk is about Oman’s agricultural potential, which cannot fully satisfy all the needs of the country – BelTA’s remark]. We have all the possibilities to grow and produce what they need here [in Belarus], it is something related to food,” Mr. Nazarov said.
As BelTA reported earlier, this topic was discussed as a follow-up to the talks between the President of Belarus and the Sultan of Oman. It deals with a large-scale joint project in the field of agriculture that is under development. It is proposed to implement it in the Vitebsk Region based on the experience of agricultural enterprises in the Braslav District overseen by the Property Management Directorate. Mr. Nazarov was instructed to study the issue of the implementation of this project.
