Head of President Administration on Belarusian proposals for Russian market
In his talk with the Belarus 1 TV Channel, Dmitry Krutoi, the Head of the Belarus President Administration, presented Belarusian proposals for the Russian market, sb.by reports
“The recent meeting between our countries’ leaders showed that, despite our total trade in goods and services already surpassing $60bn, there is still significant potential for growth and many opportunities ahead. The banking sector, financial situation, and budget are strong, enabling us to relocate some resources toward favourable export contracts. While long-term contracts of three years or more would be ideal, even profitable short-term contracts, like annual ones, should be made available to the Russians. Considering the high market interest rates and the limited availability of subsidies and leasing programmes in their market, there is a clear opportunity and capacity to fill this gap and support our domestic manufacturers,” Mr. Krutoi highlighted.
He also added that trade turnover with certain regions of Russia is above average.
“We aim to achieve turnover figures of 103-105 percent. I’m specifically talking about goods, since the service sector is already performing well — including transportation, construction, and IT services. These sectors are developing positively; the main focus is to fully use the relevant enterprises and expand operations within the Russian regions. In general, the situation is clear. Although we have lost ground in traditional industrial goods, this is compensated by food products, metallurgy, and to some extent, light industry. As a result, the overall average figures for now look quite satisfactory,” the Head of the Belarus President Administration stated.
