Guterres: nuclear danger reached Cold War levels

The danger of the use of nuclear weapons in the world has reached a level unseen since the height of the Cold War – as stated by UN Secretary–General Antonio Guterres at the opening of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Review Conference, TASS reports

According to Mr. Guterres, geopolitical tensions are now very high. “And it occurs at a time of nuclear danger not seen since the height of the Cold War. Humanity is in danger of forgetting the lessons forged in the terrifying fires of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Geopolitical tensions are reaching new heights," he stressed.
