Guterres: food from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine must be returned to world markets

Despite the conflict, food and fertilisers from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine must be returned to world markets – as stated by UN Secretary General António Guterres, speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council, TASS reports

“Let me be clear: a meaningful solution to global food insecurity requires reintegrating Ukraine’s agricultural production and the food and fertiliser production of Russia and Belarus into world markets,” he said.

The UN Secretary General added that this must be done despite the hostilities.

“I will do everything in my power to ensure dialogue and put these measures into practice,” added Mr. Guterres.
