Gryzlov: Belarus, Russia share common positions in all international organisations

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus, Boris Gryzlov, has attended the opening of a photo exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Russia at Belarus’ Foreign Ministry

"These 30 years have shown that Russia and Belarus are the most reliable partners on the territory of the former Soviet Union – definitely, sharing common positions in all international organisations. I put a special emphasis on this, since not all CIS states, unfortunately, have a single position that could strengthen the power of the CIS and the CSTO. Russia and Belarus are an example of unified relations that enable the states – that have been formed on the USSR space – to dictate their conditions and position, and to defend their interests,” Mr. Gryzlov said.

The diplomat added that Belarus and Russia are now actively developing their Union State, “An especially strong impetus was given on November 4th, 2021, at a meeting of the Supreme State Council. The presidents of Russia and Belarus, Vladimir Putin and Aleksandr Lukashenko, signed the guidelines to implement the Union State Treaty. Twenty-eight programmes have been adopted, and they are now being successfully implemented. These programmes are mainly designed for the period up to the end of 2023, and – according to the supervisory authority – about 30 percent of the tasks they envisage have already been implemented.”
