Gigin: US slows down global recovery with its sanctions policy

This opinion was expressed by Vadim Gigin, the Chairman of the Republican Znanie Belarusian Society, in his talk with Alfa Radio

“The West has a desire to exclude the Belarusian and Russian economies from the world economy. But it does not understand that this is impossible to do. The sanctions policy of the West is a hysterical reaction and helpless rage. The West cannot inflict a military blow on us, so it is trying to inflict maximum economic damage, often without thinking through many actions to the end. With its sanctions, the West accelerates the turn of Belarus and Russia to the East, thus increasing our trade with China. Moreover, with its sanctions policy, the United States is slowing down the global recovery from the economic crisis, while Biden’s policy generally undermines confidence in the US Dollar as a reliable world currency,” noted the expert.

He added, “In fact, now the West is losing its own influence in the world. The loss of its hegemony would have happened anyway sooner or later, it’s just that by its actions the West accelerates this process. It is difficult even to say whether it understands this.”
