Gigin: US biolabs are products of neo-colonialist, imperialist thinking

This was underlined by Vadim Gigin, the Chairman of the Board of the Republican Znanie Belarusian Society, during his talk show with Alfa Radio, when commenting on the statement of the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev that the US network of biolabs around the Russian Federation is dangerous

The expert drew attention to the fact that American biolaboratories are located in many places; there are more than 30 of them. This obviously arouses anxiety, “The system is dangerous and causes concern everywhere. Recently I was in Lebanon, and I was told that in this country there are also US biolaboratories. Society is concerned about this. The criticism initiated by the Russian Federation is met with support across different countries, especially where biolabs are located, regardless of their goals.”

Vadim Gigin noted that the Americans are placing potentially dangerous laboratories on the territory of other countries, deliberately taking these dangerous studies outside the United States. “Moreover, this always happens without public discussion, through closed decisions of allegedly democratic governments. People are against. They don’t want to host these labs. They do not lead to an improvement in the scientific potential of this or that country, because [the Americans] conduct closed-type research using their own specialists, involving local people only for certain procedures.”

“It’s a form of neo-colonialism. The US sees itself as a metropolis, bringing harmful industries and harmful research out of its borders. Bringing dirty technology out of one’s own territory is a sign of neo-colonialism. Americans see themselves as super-humans, and everyone else – who does not belong to the Anglo-Saxons (even Germans and Poles) – as sub-humans. However, they have learned to classify these categories into useful ones, their own and those who are subject to destruction. Such thinking is peculiar for a lot of figures in the Western world. These American biolabs are products of neo-colonialist, imperialist thinking in a new stage. If you like, this is postmodern imperialism. This is not what it was during the period of British India or the development of Africa. They have learned to use clever rhetoric to hide their true intentions. But this does not make imperialism any less terrible,” summed up political analyst.
