Georgian PM: US money used to undermine sovereignty of countries

Money coming from the US was often used to finance the processes aimed at undermining the sovereignty of other countries, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told a press conference, TASS reports

“It became directly clear that American money was often used to finance improper processes, to undermine the sovereignty of certain countries, which we talked about and for which we were criticised earlier,” Mr. Kobakhidze said.

The PM added that the correctness of the Georgian authorities’ judgments was also confirmed by the new US President Donald Trump, who signed an executive order, temporarily suspending all US foreign assistance programmes for 90 days pending reviews to determine whether they are aligned with his policy goals. The document signed by Trump noted that the American sphere of foreign aid and the bureaucracy reigning in it ‘do not correspond to American interests and in many ways are contrary to American values’.
