Georgian PM: Ukraine urges to open up second front against Russia

Kiev openly called on the Georgian opposition to open up a second front against Russia. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili commented on what this could lead to if such politicians were in power, RIA Novosti reports.

Mr. Garibashvili stressed that the appeals are not an interpretation or a fiction: they are a direct quote from what was said by the Georgian oppositionists themselves. "These people [oppositionists] are the allies [of Ukrainian officials]. Imagine if these people were in power now… Does anyone have any doubts that there would really be a second front in Georgia, and that the country would turn into a landfill?" he said in Parliament.

According to Mr. Garibashvili, if there was an opposition in power in Georgia today, the country would have already lost its sovereignty.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Georgia said that the country would not impose sanctions against Russia because of national interests.
