French politician said EU soon be unable to continue arming and paying for Ukraine

The European Union may soon end its military support for Ukraine, as it does not have enough resources to continue paying for Kiev indefinitely, said leader of the French Patriots party Florian Philippot, TASS reports

“I think US President-elect Donald Trump will get his country out of this,” Philippot pointed out. “It is quite possible that this will cause hysteria among the EU, but it fortunately does not have the capacity to pay for and arm Ukraine indefinitely.”

According to the politician, ‘the French understand perfectly well that the Ukrainian conflict does not concern them in any way’.

“We should stop supplying weapons and money to Kiev, instead we should advocate for a peaceful settlement,” the politician emphasised. “Take the so-called Anna of Kiev brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, from which military personnel deserted en masse. This is a scandal. France has allocated a huge amount of money and weapons for something that does not exist in reality.”

The politician is convinced that ‘the exit from the European Union and NATO, thanks to which France will regain its sovereignty, can direct Paris’ policy in the right direction’.

“The Republic today is moving from one political crisis to another. To resolve them, it is necessary to fully restore sovereignty, to withdraw from the European Union and NATO. We will fight for this,” Philippot added.

Earlier, French Minister of the Armed Forces Sebastien Lecornu said that Paris would continue to train the Ukrainian military on its territory.
