Fox News: US authorities don’t care about suffering of their citizens

The American economy is going through hard times: inflation has risen to record levels in recent decades while fuel and food prices have risen sharply. Ordinary US citizens have already experienced this. The White House has not yet resolved the problem and, as experts fear, will not do so in the near future.

According to a public opinion poll conducted by The Wall Street Journal, 83 percent of respondents described the state of the American economy as poor or not so good. Monica Crowley, a former US treasury official, commented on the data for Fox News TV channel.

“The American people are living with this catastrophic economy every single day. They are being squeezed between skyrocketing inflation, record high gas prices and falling real wages. They suffer every day, but Democrats don’t care!” Ms. Crowley said.

As former Massachusetts senator Scott Brown noted, now the American authorities are trying to focus on the green economy, to reformat the entire state for it. However, this approach is selective, since ordinary US residents simply cannot afford expensive electric vehicles. The speaker believes that in order to prevent the situation from worsening, the country needs, on the contrary, to strengthen its work in the oil sector.

“We shouldn’t be having to go to Venezuela and actually Saudi Arabia on our knees begging for oil. This is America. Inflation, the situation of the southern border… We could go on and on [listing the problems of the US under the current administration]. We’ve got to get our act together here. So, I’m hopeful they wake up somehow.” Mr. Brown concluded.

Meanwhile, American financial expert Dan Roccato predicted that high prices in the US will remain at about the same level until at least the end of 2022.
