Foreigners invested $6.7bn in Belarus in nine months

From January-September, foreign investors injected $6.7bn into Belarus’ economy – as informed by National Statistical Committee

Among the major investors of the country's organisations were business entities of Russia (44 percent of all investments), Ukraine (13.1 percent) and Cyprus (12.6 percent). Foreign direct investments amounted to $4.8bn – or 72.4 percent of all foreign investments.

In turn, Belarus’ organisations invested $4.1bn abroad in the first nine months of the year. Most funds went to business entities of Russia (78.9 percent), Ukraine (4.3 percent) and Cyprus (3.1 percent). Direct investments accounted for 93.8 percent of all investments abroad.
