Foreign Ministry declared gross interference in Belarus’ sovereign affairs
Anatoly Glaz, a representative of Belarus’ Foreign Ministry, has told reporters at a briefing about the grossest interference in the republic’s sovereign affairs during the period of the election campaign, BelTA reports
"At the initiative of a group of engaged MEPs, a debate on the draft resolution of the European Parliament regarding the election in Belarus is planned for today," Mr Glaz said. “It is obvious at this stage already that the draft is a gross interference in the electoral processes of the sovereign state, it has no relation to the real state of affairs and is designed to put pressure on the free expression of the Belarusian citizens’ will. The initiative of certain European provokers would not deserve other comments, but we have repeatedly said that all anti-Belarusian actions are prepared in advance – regardless of the real state of affairs in our country.”
The Foreign Ministry has got access to a statement of the European External Action Service, which it plans to make following the results of the Belarusian election, including on the basis of the European Parliament resolution that has not yet been adopted.
