FMs of Belarus, Uzbekistan held talks

On the first day of his official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan on June 13th, Belarus’ Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov has held a number of meetings and events, sb.by reports with reference to Belarus’ Foreign Ministry

Negotiations with Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov were a key part of the visit programme. The foreign ministers of the two countries noted the high level of bilateral relations, which are based on the will of the heads of state.

During the negotiations, agreements were reached on the development of a comprehensive roadmap for co-operation in the coming years, on the revision of the Belarusian-Uzbek legal framework to update the institutional framework for co-operation, and on the development of a joint fund to finance investment projects.

The parties discussed the development of trade-economic liaisons in detail, as well as the implementation of agreements at the highest level.

Mr. Ryzhenkov highlighted Uzbekistan’s key role in the region and its potential to support the localisation of Belarusian industries.

The foreign ministers exchanged views on international and regional agendas. They emphasised the importance of co-operation within the UN, the CIS and the SCO, as well as the similarity of their approaches to forming a multipolar world order. They also discussed the need for mutual support on international platforms.

During the negotiations, the following schedule of events was agreed: visits at the highest and high levels, a meeting of the Belarusian-Uzbek Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Co-operation in Minsk, a Belarusian-Uzbek educational forum in Tashkent, the 3rd interregional forum in Belarus, a tourism forum in Uzbekistan, and the days of culture and art in both countries.

Belarus’ FM invited his counterpart to events in Minsk within the framework of Belarus’ presidency in the EAEU in June 2025 and to the 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security in October 2025.
