FM on Belarus’ foreign policy agenda

Belarus will continue to develop and strengthen relations with its foreign policy partners in 2025 – as stated by Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel

The FM shed light on some details of Minsk's international agenda, “There will be return visits by the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Sultan of Oman. We are currently in active dialogue with them, and a whole group of experts is working. The traditional contacts between the leaders of Belarus and China will continue, and there is already a confirmed invitation to the President to take part in the SCO summit and the Victory Day parade in China in September. On May 9th, there will be events in Belarus and a parade in Moscow, the President will have the opportunity to hold talks with his colleagues there. Prior to that, the President of Guinea-Bissau is scheduled to visit, and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam, an outstanding man and the country leader, is to pay a visit after that. Many ideas are planned to be consolidated during his visit. The President of Zimbabwe is also scheduled to come to Belarus.”

Mr. Ryzhenkov reminded that a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council is planned to be held in Belarus, and the issue has already been discussed with the Head of State. “A dialogue is currently underway to agree on specific dates. The President has set the task to prepare this event at a high level, to make its agenda rich based on our priorities. Actually, our priorities are clear: economic integration, innovative co-operation, digitalisation, import substitution projects, including in industrial interaction, and the humanitarian sphere. An increase in the international positioning of our organisation is also important, and Belarus has made a number of proposals with regard to that – including obtaining the UN partner status by EAEU,” the Foreign Minister added.
