CAS has overturned the FIS decision to suspend Belarusian athletes from participating in international competitions and Olympic selection.

It is reported that, on November 11th, 2025, the Belarusian Ski Union filed an appeal against the FIS decision dated October 21st, 2025. It concerned the non-admission of Belarusian athletes to competitions under the auspices of the federation and selection for the 2026 Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Following the appeal hearing, the Court of Arbitration for Sport announced its decision on December 2nd. “The FIS resolution dated October 21st, 2025 is cancelled, as it prohibits Belarusian athletes who meet the criteria established by the International Olympic Committee for participation as individual neutral athletes (AIN) in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo from competing in competitions and qualifying events recognised by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation," the NOC press service noted.
