First Deputy PM: world community should follow the example of Belarus-China friendship, mutual support and joint development

The world community should follow the example of friendship, mutual support and joint development of Belarus and China – as stated by Belarus’ First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov in his talk with reporters in Beijing today, during the visit of President Aleksandr Lukashenko to China

Describing the context of the current visit and the overall level of Belarusian-Chinese relations against the background of global events, Mr. Snopkov noted, “Let the world see what true development looks like. The thesis long promoted by China (creation of the community of common destiny for mankind) within the Belt and Road initiative is not actually an economic one: it is a moral and ethical thesis and path. Belarus has never deviated from this path, it was among the first to support this initiative. The world community should take an example from the friendship, mutual support and joint development of Belarus and China, which is demonstrated by the current visit of the President. I'll say it again: this is not a working visit, it is not an official one. This is a visit for a family, friendly dinner. Perhaps, on the global agenda as well, the leaders of the world powers should gather and talk with each other about the future of their peoples. I take the liberty to talk about this, because it is, of course, a matter of the leaders who have been elected by people, but what is happening today simply indicates that this is not the way to live. We need to live in joint development, based on the example set by the leader of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko. It is necessary to live in peace with people for the sake of nations and their prosperity. There are no other options.”
