Expert on US sanctions against Belarus: our country will not succumb to this blackmail

Belarus has its own national interests and Russia is our strategic partner – as noted by political scientist Vadim Borovik during his talk with Alfa Radio

The United States threatens Belarus with punishment for friendship with Russia. It has recently become known that the American authorities are ready to impose new sanctions against our country if it increases the assistance to the Russian Federation in the special military operation on the territory of Ukraine. This was stated by Spokesperson for the US Department of State Nat Price.

“Sanctions have been imposed on Belarus since its independence for any reason. This is the method of dialogue with other countries in the United States and Western countries: levelling the interests of partners, imposing their own point of view on the world order and a constant baton in the form of sanctions. It should be noted that Belarus will never succumb to such blackmail. If suddenly something like this happened, we would not be able to pursue an independent policy. Belarus has its own national interests, and Russia is our strategic partner. Our co-operation meets mutual interests and, of course, we will continue it within the framework of the agreements that have been reached at the level of top officials, governments and foreign ministries of the two countries,” Vadim Borovik stressed.
