Expert on Trump’s ability to end the Ukraine conflict in 24 hours
Olga Lazorkina, an analyst at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research (BISR), believes that after taking office on January 20th, Donald Trump will not be able to end the Ukraine conflict in 24 hours, as he has promised. She shared her opinion with journalists at News.By.

“I don’t want to disappoint anyone, but Trump’s last trip to Paris where he attended the Notre Dame re-opening ceremony, showed, I think, three very important things. First, Trump doesn’t have a plan. He is thinking that in the time he has before taking office he’s going to figure something out. Everyone thought he had a 24 hours plan ready, but he doesn’t,” said the expert.
The BISR analyst also pointed out that Trump’s bold statements about possibly leaving NATO were just words.
“You could see during that trip how much the US depends on its allies, although they try to cover that with tough talk. The fact that Macron could make Trump meet Zelenskyy before even taking office is also a very serious indicator. You could see on the pictures made at that meeting how unpleasant it was for Trump. And the third thing, Trump will not get a grown. Considering all the events recently, Syria included, the most he can hope for is a crown of thorns,” added Ms. Lazorkina.
