Expert on Baltic States’ withdrawal from BRELL: elites not interested in development of their states
The authorities of the Baltic States do not plan development as a strategy for their countries – as noted by Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Journalists Andrei Krivosheev in his talk with the ONT TV channel, when commenting on the withdrawal of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia from the BRELL energy ring with Belarus and Russia
“I feel sorry for our Baltic neighbours, because they are turning themselves into a dull, dark province, which will now depend on Sweden, Norway and the EU. The elites of the Baltic States do not plan development as a strategy for their countries. They intend to be a hostile, malignant periphery of the EU and the NATO bloc in confrontation with Russia. <...> They are going to be a subsidised unprofitable province, on whose territory the NATO contingents will be stationed,” Mr. Krivosheev noted.
He emphasised that politicians in these countries do not think about their people.
“They have Kaja Kallas in front of them, who, by their standards, has had a brilliant career. That’s what they’re going for. They do not think about their people, about their states, about development. The main thing for them is to pack their bags, leave behind this dark periphery and go to Brussels. This is their dream,” the speaker explained.
